Senator Magnus Abe has been shot by police in Rivers State.

Abe was said to have been hit on the chest by rubber bullets as police tried to disperse an opposition rally said to have taken place at the  College of Arts and Science in the centre of Port Harcourt, the capital city.

Abe who is representing the Rivers Central Senatorial district reportedly led members of the Save Rivers Movement on a rally.
