[The Activism Blog] GLEEHD Foundation encourages Nigerian youth to take active part in politics

The Governance, Leadership, Economic, Environmental and Human Development (GLEEHD) Foundation on Thursday, September 07, 2017 held its first edition of Nigeria Emerging Political Leaders Forum in Surulere, Lagos.

The summit with the theme, “2019 Elections and youth Participation in political leadership in Nigeria: Prospects and strategies for young leaders” had an array of speakers who unanimously called for effective youth performance in the nation’s political process.

The Convener of the summit, a former aspirant in the last local government elections in Lagos, Dayo Israel re-echoed his belief in the capability of the Nigerian youth to hold and function effectively in leadership positions.

The summit, a step in the right direction will surely aid in continuing the conversation on the need for young Nigerians to take an active part in the 2019 elections.

Some of the speakers were Senator Babajide Omoworare; PDP Lagos Governorship aspirant in the 2015 election, Mr. Jimi Agbaje; co-founder of RED, Adebola Williams; Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Foreign Relations & Diaspora, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, former spokesman to former president, Goodluck Jonathan, Reuben Abati; Senior Pastor Daystar Christian Centre, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, among others.
