The National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Babatunde Ogala has written an internal memo dated November 6 accusing the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole of belittling the party’s legal department.

According to The Cable, Ogala said since he became the party’s legal adviser on June 25, his department has not been funded.

I am constrained to put this memo and complaint in writing in the light of the repeated acts of usurpation and deliberate encroachment on my office and attempt to undermine my person,” Ogala said.


Nigeria Army says it has killed Ahmed Sale, spokesman of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP)- a Boko Haram faction.

In a statement, the Army said, “reports available reveal that one Sale Ahmad Sale aka Baban Hassan, the leader of Al-Barnawi media group, a faction of Boko Haram was killed by a joint operation conducted by the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Air Force.”


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed the incumbent Sokoto Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 elections.

INEC confirmed the substitution of the name of Manir Dan’Iya, earlier submitted as the party flag bearer, with the name of Tambuwal over the weekend.


The Kano Fire Service said a fire has destroyed 77 temporary shops at Kasuwar Kurmi (‘Yan Gumama) Market in Kano.

The Spokesman of the State Fire Service, Saidu Mohammed told newsmen in Kano Sunday, that 70 of the shops were razed down completely.

We received a distress call early hours of (Sunday morning) at about 07:35 a.m from one Aliyu Ibrahim that there was fire outbreak at the market. On receiving the information, we quickly sent some of our personnel and firefighting vehicle to the scene of the incident at about 07: 43 a.m to quench the fire so as not to affect other shops,” he said.


The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its roadmap for the 2019 election. The roadmap themed Next Level is geared toward seeking re-election across all thirty-six states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

About 30 people were taking part in the demonstration, holding rainbow flags and banners with slogans including “Transphobia must be stopped” and “If you stay silent, they will come after you too”.

The far-right protesters lit smoke bombs and threw them into the crowd, an Agence France-Presse journalist at the scene said.
