Two Chinese citizens kidnapped in Nigeria
Two Chinese nationals, Sun Zhixin and Wang Quing Hu, have been kidnapped in Ebonyi, South-east Nigeria. The two men are workers of Tongyi construction company. They were working on a road project in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi when they were forcefully whisked away by armed gunmen. Per Premium Times, they were taken off the construction site around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday by a group of masked armed men.
EFCC arrests 32 suspected ‘Yahoo boys’ in Abeokuta
Operatives from the Ibadan zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday went on a manhunt for suspected internet fraudsters and arrested 32 persons. The arrest was sequel to a petition detailing their alleged fraudulent activities, including internet fraud through which they reportedly obtained money from unsuspecting victims. Items allegedly recovered from them include six exotic cars, laptops, mobile phones, several documents containing false pretences and fetish objects.
Buhari to dissolve cabinet May 22 – Lai Mohammed
President Muhammadu Buhari will dissolve the current Federal Executive Council on May 22, less than a week to May 29. The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, disclosed this at the end of Thursday’s Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja.He stated that until May 22, the cabinet remained intact.
Senate invites IGP over kidnappings across Nigeria
The Senate has invited the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, for a briefing over the spate of kidnappings across Nigeria. The lawmakers said the invitation is to help profer lasting solution to the menace.

The Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal on Thursday upheld the dismissal of the ‘no-case submission’ filed by a former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, in his trial for alleged corruption.Kalu, who was a state governor between 1999 and 2007, is facing a N7.67 billion fraud charge filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
