Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, known for his outspokenness and forthrightness, took to Twitter, to speak some common-sense.

In a series of tweets, where he made scathing comments about the Nigerian elite, Murray-Bruce, the self appointed supervisor of the Department of Common Sense, made a lot of sense.

It’s hard to disagree with Senator Bruce today.

Why do our elite behave this way? Why do we climb the ladder of success that was freely given to us & then remove it when we get to the top?

1-We elites have lost our ability to empathize with poor Nigerians for the simple reason that many of us are not stake holders in Nigeria.

2-When we move about with armed policemen who block us from the common man and block the common man from us how can we empathize with them?

3-When our kids school abroad and we never bother to know where kids of our drivers and cooks go to school, how can we empathize with them?

4-When Govs are flown to Europe for headache and dont patronize the general hospital in their state, how can they empathize with the masses?

5-We need policies that’ll force our elite to become stakeholders in Nigeria. Only then would we empathize with what the masses go through.

6-The cycle of poverty will continue if we dont build more schools for the poor with money we are using to build multi billion state houses.
