The Thread: Electoral violence is “apparently” not a thing of the past in Nigeria and must be addressed before 2019

When the 2015 elections were over, everyone was of the view that electoral violence was no longer a “thing” to be considered in Nigeria’s political sphere and the 2019 elections would be totally free of any violent occurrence, as people have begun to understand its dispensability.

However, it became an issue of concern again when the APC primaries in Mushin, Lagos ended with a fight –  a Ward Chairman was injured.

We should also not forget the PDP power tussle which has been resolved, however, leaving some members ‘frowning’.

A Twitter user, @Chxta, though not in Lagos, expressed his concern over the issue, as he suggests the same ‘do or die’ disposition towards taking power might glide into the 2019 elections, if not addressed.
