Going by the what’s obtainable in parts of the world like Syria, Nigeria, Ukraine, and others, Pope Francis had stated that that “there are so many tears this Christmas”.
The Vatican head made the statement while delivering in his traditional Christmas “Urbi et Orbi” blessing from the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica on December 25.
Pope Francis also called for an end to violence in some of the world’s troubled zones and regions. He said: “Truly there are so many tears this Christmas.”
He said Christians in Iraq and Syria “for too long now have suffered the effects of ongoing conflict” and “together with those belonging to other ethnic and religious groups, are suffering a brutal persecution.”
He added that there were “too many displaced persons, exiles and refugees, adults and elderly, from this region and the whole world.”
