President Buhari’s continued absence from Nigeria has given room for conspiracies to usurp the seat of power. In May, we heard rumours of coups plotting and Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai vowed to stop any coup against Buhari. Last week, the Senate pulled an impeachment stunt, which Saraki put an immediate stop to.
Then Buratai was seen on BBC’ s HARDtalk programme, anchored by Stephen Sackur. This has caused Demola Olarewaju’s hackles to rise.
See below:
Buratai doing press rounds personally doesn't sit well at all with me. We mustn't get used to seeing dark goggles on TV again.

I think when one tweets stuff like these, it should be a thread so that those APC fanboys who can't see beyond their noses can understand.

Getting the highest army chief on television in any country is a very difficult and rare event except in countries where the military rule.

And they only talk when something crucial needs to be said – like showing the country their capabilities during a war situation.

These press rounds coming on the back of a silent North/South pending presidential brouhaha and coup talk, don't just sit well with me.

Reactions:
I saw an article online by a foreign journalist attempting to launder his image and the fur behind my head was on end. It's suspicious.

Finally, this conversation is being pushed to the mainstream. I almost got tired of talking. For those who have ears…

My fear is, the West led by Britain is planning an 'El-Sisi' for Nigeria using Buratai. Hence, Arewa quit notice, PMB dies, NG burns, Coup! https://t.co/ydvKEDZH73
