TICKER: Sex-on-the beach couple charged for drug possession instead of, er, sex on the beach

In Naples, Florida, sex on the beach isn’t the biggest deal in the world. Crack cocaine, on the other hand, will get you arrested.

That’s what one couple found out on Friday when an officer observed them on a beach towel “intimately involved with one another,” the Naples Daily News reported.

Cops said they found Sherman Perry, 32, and Jamie Vergo, 27, having sex, but they were arrested for their alleged drug possession. When officers found a bag of marijuana beside them, Vergo denied that it was theirs. The couple allegedly couldn’t explain away the crack cocaine and a pipe that was in their belongings, the Sun Sentinel reported.

Both were arrested on charges of marijuana and crack cocaine possession. There were no charges stemming from the sex on the beach, however.

They were released on bond that totalled $16,000, according to the Daily Mail.
