Bobby Brown’s entry into rehab appeared to be a serious move on behalf of the singer to straighten out his confusing and sometimes troubled life.  But just three weeks after going in, Bobby has checked himself out.  According to Radar Online, Bobby’s relatives aren’t happy with the move either, begging him to stick it out for the long haul.

“When he first checked in, he promised his family and friends, including his New Edition band mates, that this time he was going to stay in rehab for the full treatment. That’s normally a 90-day program,” said the source. “However, after fulfilling his duties for his DUI plea deal, Bobby has decided that he doesn’t need treatment anymore.”

Bobby’s family has been openly critical of his alcohol abuse, including his daughter Bobbi Kristina.  The source told Radar Online that they are worried that Bobby is going to go right back to drinking, since that tends to be his pattern.

“They’re not sure if he was ever serious about conquering his demons and have voiced their concerns. It’s difficult to believe someone going into rehab for alcohol addiction for such a short time is genuine about giving up drinking,” the source said.

Bobby was required to go into rehab as a condition for his DUI arrest last August.  He got married earlier this year, is getting on the road with his old band mates from New Edition, and was trying to do things right after watching his life partner and ex-wife, Whitney Houston die earlier this year.

“Mr. Brown takes his agreement very seriously and admitted himself three weeks after concluding his honeymoon in Mexico during a break from the New Edition tour,” his lawyer, Christopher Brown, said in a statement. “Bobby is doing well and receiving services that comply with his agreement with the State of California.”

Let’s hope that Bobby knows what he’s doing, but the truth is that we are all worried about him and have been for the last 20 years.
