Sylva pulls a Buhari, skips Bayelsa governorship debate

During the last presidential election campaign, President Muhammadu Buhari, repeatedly refused to attend debates organised for the presidential candidate.

For various not-so-cogent reasons, the All Progressives Congress, said its candidate, Buhari, would not be attending.

Almost 9 months later, the APC governorship candidate in Bayelsa state, Timipre Sylva, has followed the lead of the President, by skipping the governorship election debate.

According to Vanguard, Timipre Sylva was ‘busy campaigning’, hence, he couldn’t be bothered about showing up to a debate, where he’d have gotten to outline his plans for the electorate.

While Sylva was a no-show, incumbent governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Serikae Dickson and Moses Siasia of the Peoples Democratic Movement, were in attendance.

Siasia and Dickson, during the debate, articulated their plans for the state, in the areas of agriculture, economy, security, diversification of the economy and employment generation.

But Sylva, we hear, was busy campaigning.

After all, Muhammadu Buhari didn’t attend any debate and today, he’s President.
