Today’s Noisemakers: Don Moen, Nathaniel Bassey, Ray Phiri, Malala and others

Every day on the Nigerian internet, there are people who keep our eyes glued to our phone screens as we read their rants, opinions, perspectives on political and social matters, etc. Sometimes, they are just downright ridiculous. We make it our job to take down the names of these noisemakers.

Here’s our list from today:

1 Frank Edwards

Perhaps because today’s been pretty quiet on the news front (yea, even Osinbajo’s trip to and fro London was on the downlow) and social media barely had anything to shake the world about, someone decided to concoct news that would bring the clicks- because bad news spreads fast and sells even more.

This sort of news is liable to shake up the gospel music world and christendom in general. For a brief moment, it did.

Then it was swiftly taken care of:

2. Don Moen himself tweeted that 4 generations of his family are alive and kicking so nobody gets any more stupid ideas.

3. Nathaniel Bassey could only shake in head in amazement.

And there’s this:

But really, fear God.

4. Ray Phiri

Someone in the music world actually died today- this one is not in dispute. South African jazz legend, Ray Phiri died today after a two month battle with lung cancer, the BBC reports.

Africans are feeling this death keenly. See below:

5. Malala Yousafzai is keeping her promise to toot the girl-horn. This is how she celebrated her birthday:

6. Channels TV has a new show coming:

*******Commercial break************

7. Karo

We always have something to groan about in this country. Today is the Bayelsa state governor, Henry Seriake Dickson and his complex.
