Today’s Noisemakers: Zahra Buhari, Dokun Olumofin, @UcheIsClown and others

Every day on the Nigerian internet, there are people who keep our eyes glued to our phone screens as we read their rants, opinions, perspectives on political and social matters, etc. They range from the awesome and brilliant to the OMG, he didn’t. We have made it our job to take down the names of these noisemakers.

Here’s our list from today:

  1. Dokun Olumofin

He is one-half of the Olumofin brothers, and you cannot claim you don’t know him. He was the one who threw that lorry load of Enugu mud at the beginning of the year at radio jockey, Gbemi OO. His mission today was to enlighten us today on the different types of Yoruba women.

2. Mrs. Ezekwesili

Anambra, home state of Mrs Ezekwesili,  celebrates 25 years today, and the co-founder of Transparency International opened the convos on Twitter today with that tidbit, and proceeded to ask a social studies question which saw a good measure of engagement.

3. #AfricanVerificationQuestions

Someone put out a poll on the 14th of December, which quickly spiralled into a series of polls on Nigerian Twitter even unto this day. Want to know your actual African status, whether it is real or borrowed, answer these questions with flying colours. The questions are hilarious, and evidently, we all had the same parent. Be sure to check out both the top and latest vertical.

4. Emo girl

What do you do when your ex sends you a missive donkey years after he pulled some uber ghosting moves on you? You ask Twitter. Here’s @canyewest with her story. And yes, the ‘Men are scum’ snapback makes an entrance somewhere.

5. Zahra Buhari

Every Nigerian loves a good wedding, ’cause we all love love. Stretching it? Perhaps. But this is our very own President’s daughter, Zahra Buhari’s day, plus it’s a millionaire shindig,  so we will take liberties. This post of hers on instagram got us reaching for our hankies. You feel us, don’t you?

5. Atlantic Dialogues

The next generation of leaders is being given a place at the table to challenge the established perspectives and push the conversations forward via the Atlantic dialogues which held from the 12th to 16th of December, 2016. One of the speakers was Mrs Ezekwesili. Atlantic Dialogues tweet stormed the program.

7.UcheIsClown

A friend in need is a friend indeed, the saying goes. UcheIsClown is that sort of friend. He put out this tweet on social media asking for patronage for his coursemate -Queen- who sells crayfish to help pay her way through school, and now, Mrs Ezekwesili, Betty Irabor, ChristianYouth project and other Nigerians have promised to not only patronise her but support her. Now this is how to make some good noise.

That’s all we have for now. See you tomorrow.
