The Olofin of Ado-Odo in Ado-Odo-Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba Abdul Lateef Adeniran, recently said that the thugs who beat him up in his palace also tried to rape his wife.
Adeniran was attacked, stripped off his clothes in public and his palace was also burnt down following a Supreme Court judgment validating his appointment.
His wives and children reportedly escaped being lynched by rampaging youths who attacked the palace.
Adeniran said his crown and other valuables were also stolen.
Oba Akanni, who appeared before the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the crisis that sat in Isabo, Abeokuta, also lamented that a sum of N1.5 million kept in his palace as at the time of the incident was stolen by the hoodlums who burnt down his palace.
The monarch was beaten by yet to be identified hoodlums in the area before his palace was set ablaze during an attack that occurred April 15, 2013.
Consequently, the state government set up a judicial commission to look into the crisis and come up with recommendation to the government.
The monarch while giving a graphic detail of how he was attacked, said, “I was beaten with charms on that day and I would have been dead by now if not for the grace of God.”
