The numbers of quarterbacks who chose to knee during anthem, in protest against police brutality and racial inequality have gradually leaped into their dozens and President Trump is not happy about it.
The US leader saw his hopes dashed last week when the NFL management decided in a meeting it wouldn’t compel any player to stand during anthem, thus allowing their first amendment rights.
Trump has however berated the increase in the number of players who now takes the knee, largely linked to the NFL’s decision and equally described the act as a show of total disrespect to the flag and country.
Trump wrote in a tweet on Monday: “Two dozen NFL players continue to kneel during the National Anthem, showing total disrespect to our Flag & Country. No leadership in NFL!”
