UK boy band, Ryan Parrott & The Rumours take on D’banj’s ‘Oliver’

by Seyi Lawal

UK boy band, Ryan Parrott & The Rumours made up of Ryan Parrott, Lorenzo Stavros, Marios Poulloura, Jarmaine Great and Liam Porterare are a group of musicians who have been writing, producing and performing since July 2010.

The group who are known to cover songs from Drake to Rihanna recently uploaded a video clip of themselves performing D’banj’s ‘Oliver.’ It was an acoustic version and though the remix meant that they removed names like Omotola, Genevieve and Nadia Buari from the son, it still sounds really good and recognisable.

As the unsigned band increase their fan base, they might have indirectly helped to widen the Koko master’s doors in breaking into UK mainstream music scene.

D’banj is scheduled to perform at the much anticipated BBC’s Hackney Weekend 2012 in June, and this seems like a nice way to build up expectation to the event.

Enough said; watch the video here:
