Update from the Washington DC #FuelSubsidyRemoval protest

By Chris Ihidero

About 45 Nigerians living in DMV (DC, Maryland and Virginia) gathered in front of IMF Office in 19th Street Washington DC to protest under a very cold temperature. World Bank/IMF media were on ground to record the event as we began singing the National anthem very passionately and our Nigerian Flag was raised high.

Our demands were read out though not organised well enough as some protesters disagreed with the statement read.

However, it was a very fun-filled event overall, especially with chant like: “Subsidized NOI” resounding in the air.
