US Secretary of State holds private meeting with Buhari in Lagos

The United States Secretary of State, John Kerry, has held a brief meeting with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari.

The meeting which held in Ikoyi, Lagos, had in attendance, National Chairman of the APC, John Odigie-Oyegun, U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria. James F. Entwistle, National leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi.

Kerry arrived the meeting amidst tight security, in a 13 bullet proof suburban convoy and an accompanying ambulance.

During the course of the sit-down, they are believed to have discussed on the need for a free and fair elections that is bereft of violence.

Buhari was reported to have sought the support of John Kerry on the non postponement of elections, and also on the increasing level of insecurity in the country.
