Singer, Augustine Obiabo Ahmedu also known as Blackface has said former band mate (Plantashun Boiz), 2face Idibia was trying to make him poor.
He said this while reacting to an ultimatum by 2face, asking him to withdraw all defamatory statements against him or be dragged to court.
The ‘Hard life’ singer had earlier claimed 2face stole some of his songs and has also sabotaged his career.
In an interview with Daily Post, Blackface said he was unperturbed by the threat of legal actions against him by his former band mate.
“I read what his manager said and it is really funny. For me, I have taken the right step and that is the best I have done. Let the law have its way.
“I have been trying to play low on this because we both are from Benue and he doesn’t want to see it that way. I had wanted us to work together as kinsmen so we could develop our youths but he doesn’t want all that.
“He has succeeded in pushing me aside from participating in all shows in Benue because he wants to make all the money so I could be poor. Check out all events that have been happening in my hometown. It’s all about him and him alone.
“You can’t ride on my intellectual property and want me to keep mum,” he said.
He added that the ‘African queen’ singer has never paid him royalty despite releasing his song.
“He has never paid my anything. My pain is, he went ahead to remix the song and featured someone else without my consent. That is intellectual robbery. The case is already on and we shall see how it ends,” he added.
