In what looked like a drama, a rape suspect simply identified as Simeon on Tuesday jumped into the River Niger after being sighted by a policeman.

It was learnt that the suspect had been on the police wanted list for allegedly raping a 10-year old girl in Okpanam community, after which he fled the community.

He was also said to have been allegedly involved in robbery and illegal land deals.

Sources said the suspects had been calling his friends from the Eastern part of the country, after which he breaks the Sim Card.

Simeon was said to have jumped into the river, while he was walking along the bank and sighted the Policeman.
