Most people who knew Remi Osholake, designer of the fashion label, Remi Lagos were always mesmerised about her commitment to the colour black.
It was often said she wouldn’t be caught dead in any other colour. Yesterday, the African fashion world was hit with the tragic news of her demise after a battle with cancer but her contribution to the fashion industry and her iconic fashion stattement will continue to inspire fashion lovers.
In this 2007 interview with TV personality, Funmi Iyanda on New Dawn, Remi Lagos explains it’s nothing diabolical or mysterious behind her choice of clothing colour. It’s just easy to assemble, she explains. “When you have a black wardrobe, its co-ordinated in a way that there are no conflicts in colours and it goes from day to evening,” she said.
