“We don’t know if we will release Baba Suwe after the granted 15 days” -NDLEA Spokesperson

by Seyi Lawal

The Spokesperson for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Mitchel Ofoyeju has insisted that popular actor and Yoruba movie comedian Babatunde Omidina better known as Baba Suwe is only being held in custody for continuous  observation and not because  he has passed out any drug.

When asked if the comedian would be released at the expiration of the fifteen days granted the agency by a Lagos High Court, on Friday October 21 2011, if he still hasn’t ejected any incriminating substance, Ofoyeju, in a telephone conversation with our correspondent, pointed out that it was rather too early to tell and “fans and the general public should all be patient while he remains under observation.”

Ofoyeju also debunked rumors circulating in some online portals that the veteran comedian had passed some pellets of cocaine in his stool today and declared that “that information is not from us!”
