When next a non-gospel act is invited to the Redeemers’ University to perform, he had better think twice!
Top Nigerian act, Orezi was kicked out of the Redeemer’s University’s premises by the school management on Thursday after being invited by the Redeemer’s University Student’s Association for the 2014 Fresher’s event tagged ‘The Debut Night.’
Just as he was about to perform his hit track, ‘Shoki,’ the university’s chaplain, Pastor Gbenga Akosile reportedly stopped the DJ – a student of the institution – from playing the ‘hit’ track.
As a matter of fact, he threatened that the student will be expelled from the university if he played Orezi’s track.
Orezi had to leave the event in anger with his band despite the fact that students of the institution insisted on having him perform.
Reports say many of the students were disappointed and carried out stage-managed protest.
Confirming the incident, Orezi took to Twitter to apologize to the disappointed students, and kinda mock the institution.
“OFF TO LAGOS!! LAST NIGHT STILL FUNNY THO REDEEMERS UNI AUTHORITIES NAWA OO ..WE WERE ALL ABOUT TO JUST START HAVIN FUN..DEY JUST DULLED US”
