“We won’t allow anyone die on that throne” || Apparently, Fayose thinks we’re running a monarchy

At the campaign rally held for President Goodluck Jonathan in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, January 13, Ayo Fayose goofed.

Apparently making reference to the death of former President Umaru Yar’adua, the Ekiti state governor said henceforth, nobody will be allowed to die on the “throne” of presidency.

At the rally, Fayose proclaimed himself as the defender of Jonathan’s cause against his critics, since the opposition, All Progressives Congress, is in the business of castigating the president.

He said: “It is the responsibility of everybody to fight terrorism and corruption. It is easy to criticise, Jonathan has done his best.”

“You are too gentlemanly for them. You are a President who will not hurt a fly. Your opponent use unorthodox means to do their things. They don’t obey the rules of the game. It is easy to criticise. When they criticise, I just laugh,” Fayose added.

Fayose also implied that the presidential candidate of the APC, Muhammadu Buhari, was too old, and as such, could not be trusted not to die in office.

“They want to use Buhari as a siege. We are not going to allow any president to die on that throne anymore. I’m not against the North. The North deserves to rule this country, but they should wait for their time.”
