White House Counselor, Kellyanne Conway said Sunday that Trump will decide whether to let Obamacare implode “this week”, Politico reports.
Following Senate’s failure failed to repeal Obamacare last week, Trump said he would allow the law fall apart by ending cost-sharing reduction payments, which would lower out-of-pocket costs for lower-income people.
On Fox News Sunday, Conway said the President is yet to decide when this would take effect; “He’s going to make that decision this week, and that’s a decision that only he can make”.
President Trump tweeted serially after the votes that “bailouts” for members of Congress will end very soon. Conway said that if lawmakers had to live under all Obamacare’s provisions, they might be more understanding of the problems people face and more willing to repeal it.
“This is exactly what so many Americans hate about Washington, D.C.,” she said. “They want people to live under the same rules they do.”
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has said it’s “time to move on” from the issue after the failed votes, but Conway said the White House will continue its push on health care, and Trump“will not accept” those who believe that.
