We guess congratulations are in order to all Game of Thrones fans across the world. It’s like everytime fans become sure that the makers of the show cannot keep them waiting any longer, they choose to take their sweet time with the release of the popular show’s next season.
Well, it appears the wait for season 7 is almost over as HBO has just announced the premiere date for the next instalment as July 16th, 2017.
The announcement was as tough to watch as can be expected of the thriller as we literally had to suffer through watching ice melt before the real announcement was made.
kicked off with the show’s instantly recognisable theme song, and a camera slowly pushing in on a block of ice in a dimly lit chamber. As the theme reached its conclusion, fire roared against the ice — fitting, given the name of the novels, A Song of Ice and Fire, on which Thrones is based.
The digital audience was then encouraged to type ice as they watched to speed up the process as that led to more fire licking away at the block of ice.
In case you are new to this show, this is not even close to the height of “extra” they can attain on this show.
Finally, the July 16 premiere date was revealed and topped off with this trailer for season 7:
The show’s producers have assured there are only 15 episodes left to go for Game of Thrones and these will be spaced out into an 8th and final season. But for now, we have to find our way around Cersei Lannister’s ruins of King’ Landing!
