The YNaija Ranking: Onos Ariyo is Number One on our Top 10 Gospel Artiste Countdown

Onos Ariyo

Our Top 10 Gospel Artiste Countdown is finally out and Worship leader, Onos Ariyo (popularly known as Onos) takes the top spot, thanks to her newest release, Forever, you are God.  The song which was released in October as her birthday gift to us is one that got us all in the “zone” again. What Onos did, was to take a popular church chorus and transformed it into a track that never ceases to get us in the “zone”. Don’t we all just love Onos Ariyo?

Folabi Nuel’s My Heart takes second place just because the song continues to draw the strings of our heart. My Heart, which ranked top on the chart last month is one that reminds us of consecration and the importance of totally yielding to God. Folabi is indeed an outstanding worship leader.

Then, we have the beautiful duet by Frank Edwards and Chee – Here to Sing; a song is one that stirs up the heart and soul in worship of God. The absolute seamless flow that this song possesses and the peace it induces is definitely a reflection of the amount of work the duo put into making this song a success. Not like we are even surprised. For anyone who has followed Frank Edwards for a while, this seamless flow can pass as his trademark delivery style.

Owner of the key by Elijah Oyelade featuring Nathaniel Bassey retains the number 4 spot from last month. The fusion of both sounds is just a beautiful blend that appeals to the ears and of course, the heart.

And the number five spot goes to the Lifepointe band. The Lifepointe band is the choir group of the Lifepointe Church; young adult expression of Elevation Church. The song, Ko ma si which was released in October is a musical reassurance that if Christ could go through everything for us on the cross, whatever anyone is going through is nothing before Him. With a simple and easy to memorise chorus, the song is one that sticks after you hear it once. We anticipate that this song climbs up the chart in a matter of time and also look forward to more songs from the Lifepointe band. The video of the song has since received over 2,500 views on youtube.

Did you notice Mike Abdul’s crossover on the chart again? For the 3rd consecutive month, Mike Abdul’s jam has been on the chart. Well, Mike Abdul always does an excellent job of bringing nothing short of excellence and yes, we love him.
