Expelled actress, Rahama to feature in EbonyLife drama series

Actress Rahama Sadau who was expelled from the Hausa film industry, Kannywood is set to feature in a new drama series to be aired on EbonyLife TV, Vanguard reports.

Rahama was expelled by the Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN) for serially “hugging and cuddling” a Jos-based musican, ClassiQ in a video.

The 13-part drama series, “Sons of the Caliphate” produced by Mo Abudu’s EbonyLife TV will premiere on Tuesday, October 13.

Speaking on Rahama’s ban, Abudu said, “We at EbonyLife TV stand with Rahama Sadau and remain proud of the work she has done thus far. We believe that nobody is above mistake and we all deserve second chances. We certainly hope that the ban is revoked so that Rahama can continue her career and blossom to her full potential.”

The drama series is centred on the flamboyant lifestyle of the Northern Caliphate.

Speaking on the series, Abudu said, “We will get to see what happens when elections are fast approaching and how the tussle for the governorship seat heats up the polity in the Northern Caliphate State of Kowa.”

It featured Rahama Sadau, who played the role of Binta Kutigi a witty, bold, intelligent, and stylish Northern lady, alongside Patrick Doyle, Mofe Duncan and Sani Muazu.
