The Media Blog: Oreka finally finds her way

Oreka Godis YNaija

Oreka Godis is one of the most talented media talents you will find in the country. But you wouldn’t know it if you weren’t a media insider. And that’s because she’s essentially been off the radar since she left Beat FM in contentious circumstances.

She began a late night relationships show on EbonyLife TV but it never really caught fire. She tried her hands at acting and she’s not bad but it still didn’t catch fire. So one of the finest media hands has floated over the past few days, trailed by talk from industry insiders of bad behaviour and relationships walked away from.

The good news is she has finally come back home – radio. The Urban 96 Radio Network (owned by Tajudeen Adepetu, who owns 8 TV channels and 2 national radio networks, as we will NOT tire of saying). Oreka is one of the voices daily on Lagos’s top radio station at the moment, Urban 96.5. She’s on the Urban Breakfast with Abuja-radio-OAP-now-come-to-Lagos, Tyeng Gang.

That’s great news. There’s too much non-talent on the airwaves. We can’t have the best of them without work. We can’t afford that, really.
