A dramatic production, ‘Hear Word’ which portrays true life stories of 20 different Nigerian women from various walks of life, opened this Friday, May 1, 2015 at the MUSON Centre in Lagos.
The play, directed by Ifeoma Fafunwa, casts some of Nollywood’s most seasoned actresses like Joke Silva, Kate Henshaw, Bimbo Akintola, Elvina Ibru, Ufuoma Mcdermott, Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju, Taiwo Ajai-Lycett and Iretiola Doyle.

Based on a collection of true life stories, the episodic Hear Word! is a poignant, joyous and emotionally charged showcase of female self-discovery and the numerous challenges facing Nigerian women. Examining social practices and beliefs that oppress, reject and limit the  potential Nigerian woman, the programme successfully inspires women to move beyond barriers and realise their full potentials in order to contribute to decision making and nation building.
