Shooting Stars of Ibadan defender Izu Joseph was killed by a stray bullet on Sunday in Bayelsa.
According to reports Izu was rushed to the hospital but couldn’t be saved due to internal injuries he suffered.
His death has been confirmed by the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side.
Tweeting via its account, @Official3SC, the club, said, “A Shooting STAR is gone! Izu Joseph is gone! Flamboyant defender is gone! RIP, brother. What a life! May God strengthen his family #Tragedy.
