A Junior Secondary School student over the weekend hung himself in front of their house in Sokoto, Leadership reports.
The boy, 13, from Dambua area within Sokoto state metropolis was said to have allegedly stolen some money from a friend’s mother and was pressurised to repay.
The Sokoto State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP El-Mustapha Sani, who confirmed the incident said the remains of the boy had since been buried according to Islamic rites.

Sani, however, added that the police has arrested another 16-year old boy who was a friend of the deceased for questioning.
The PPRO said prior to the incident, the suspect was said to have approached the mother of the deceased requesting for N1500 which was allegedly stolen by the stolen from the suspect’s own mother.
