The government of Katsina State has awarded a contract worth N400 million for the building of Examination hall at the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA).

This development was made known by Haruna Jani, the Special Adviser to Katsina Governor, Ibrahim Shema, on Higher Education.

During a press conference, Jani said the hall would have four offices attached and equipped with 600 computers, six servers as well as computer desk and chairs.

According to reports:

He said the proposed hall was expected to carry 550 students noting that the gesture was in line with the state government’s commitments to strengthen infrastructure in the university.

“The state government has been assisting Federal University Dutsinma in the provision of infrastructure to the tune of N1billion,” Jani said. He added that “The number one priority of the Shema administration is education”.

He insisted that the state government was making massive investments in tertiary institutions in the state “in order to absorb the teeming number of students graduating from the state’s secondary schools.”

Our correspondent reports that the vice chancellor of the university, Prof. James Ayatse had on several occasions lauded the support of the state government which he insisted was instrumental to smooth take off of the institution.
