Scammers and 419ers have moved from the typical way of scamming people to using social media to do their jobs.
In the past it has always been either they walk up to you, cook up a story and dupe you. It evolved to hacking into prominent peoples email accounts to solicit for funds.
They have upgraded their strategies now. Now they create a dummy social media account, advertise they are into one kind of business or the other, unsuspecting victims then fall prey to them.
It’s easy to fall prey to be prey because not all goods can be paid for upon deliveries, some actually ask for payment, so the goods can be ordered and then delivered.
A victim took to witter to share her experience and also expose the store. According to her whose handle is @tobby_e, she said she wanted to get a particular kind of heels, the store ‘FCTTRUMP_COLLECTIONS’ had it so she paid for it and was told would be delivered. After a week of waiting and nothing, she kept calling and even asking on IG. She lamented that she was blocked this morning.
Okay so I wanted to get a particular type of heels from an IG store & I paid already. I was told that I’d get the shoes last week.

It’s been a week, I’ve texted, called, mentioned them on IG. They blocked me on IG today.

@tobby_e Nigerian? Many of them are frauds. My sister paid 35k last year and she’s yet to receive any item.
