Following the revelation at the weekend that the driver of Akwa Ibom governor, was a Police impersonator, the state Police Command has began investigation into the matter.
Governor Emmanuel Udom’s driver, Edet Bassey, was accused of constantly donning the uniform of Police officer, while carrying out his duties.
Consequently, the Police Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Kolawole, has revealed that Police authorities will thoroughly investigate the crime.
Kolawole told Punch on Monday that: “Going by my interaction with the CP, he has directed investigation into the matter.”
“He will get back with the investigation report. I cannot say whether the driver has been invited or not. The police will need to follow a thorough investigation process.”
