‘APC is bitter over loss of oil-rich states’

The National Association of Nigerian Students has warned the leadership of All Progressives Congress to stop attacking the judiciary.

The Akwa Ibom state chapter of the APC had on Tuesday, called for a probe of the Supreme Court over its judgment on the governorship elections in Rivers and Akwa Ibom states.

Reacting to this development, NANS, Zone B, in a statement by its President, Pedro Obi, said the attack on the Supreme Court by the APC lacked basic political logic and legal backing.

“We learned that the APC is only using the political brawl in the states to indirectly accentuate its quest for the oil-rich states of Akwa Ibom and Rivers which have slipped off its political sway. This, the party’s National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, could not hide in a recent interview.”

“It is really unfortunate that the Chairman of Akwa Ibom State chapter of APC, Mr. Amadu Attai, has shown his party’s desperation to take over Akwa Ibom State by all means.”

“The statement released by the chairman Akwa Ibom State chapter of the APC, in response to the Supreme Court verdict on the Akwa Ibom State election, is a political propaganda that doesn’t hold water. It is, therefore, an orchestrated attempt to derail the governor’s industrialization blueprint which has started to yield result.”

“Hence, it is a stratagem aimed at distracting the governor who is willing to work for the benefit of Akwa Ibom populace, especially the indigent ones.”
