Four Nigerian artistes have featured in the recently released list of richest African musicians by Forbes Africa.

The list was compiled using factors such as endorsement value, popularity, show rates, sales, awards, YouTube views, appearance in newspapers, investment, social media presence, Influence and others.

2. ‘How some abducted Chibok girls refused to be released – Negotiator’

A negotiator involved in the release of the 82 Chibok girls from Boko Haram has revealed that some of the abducted girls refused to be freed.

Zannah Mustapha, a legal practitioner and mediator said some of the abducted girls refused to join the train to freedom.

3. I was born to champion the Biafran struggle – Nnamdi Kanu

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, on Monday, said he would never to give up his agitation for Biafra.

Kanu said this in Enugu, where he paid a ‘thank you visit’ to the leaders of pan-Igbo groups, the Eastern Consultative Assembly and the Igbo Youth Movement.

4. Court rejects request to unfreeze Patience Jonathan’s $15m account

A Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday rejected a request to unfreeze accounts with 15.5 million dollars belonging to former first lady, Patience Jonathan.

Presiding judge, Mohammed Idris ordered parties to file pleadings since issues had been joined as to the ownership of the money.

5. Jonathan initiated process of swapping Boko Haram commanders for Chibok girls – Sheriff PDP

The Ali-Modu Sheriff faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the idea of swapping Boko Haram commanders in exchange for the Chibok girls was initiated by the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan in May 2014.

The Deputy National Chairman of the party, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, said during a press briefing in Abuja, on Monday.
