This is why we blame Jude Okoye for the Psquare saga

Two singing brothers and an older brother who manages them are the talk of town today for all the wrong reasons. We woke up to amazing news of Cardi B’s record-breaking feat on Billboard’s Hot 100 but our excitement was shortlived as a video of the Okoye brothers in a heated exchange, surfaced on the internet.

When the Psquare fight and subsequent split narrative is told in the very near future, one name will recur as an instrumental force in its plot twist and it will not be mentioned in passing. Peter and Paul, for all we care, could easily be triplets with their third brother being Jude Okoye.

When we first knew of Psquare in the days of their first “hit” single, Senorita, we also knew of Jude Okoye as the one who directed that video, a task he continued to carry out solely for the group and successfully up until their heydays. Not only did he shoot Psquare’s videos, he managed the group and coordinated their affairs and it must have come naturally, considering their already-established relationship as siblings.

Since their first public altercation in 2014, Jude had shamelessly taken sides with one of the brothers and had been vocal about his discontent with the other. In the video that surfaced earlier today, Jude was heard screaming to Peter, “If you dey come my house, carry coffin come“.

Peter made reference to that telling statement in his termination request to lawyer, Festus Keyamo and we can’t blame the man. Here’s a man in a volatile family situation who is claiming to have received threats from people who may be associated with his twin brother. The older folk who should function as custodian for the younger men, especially since they have lost both parents, has instead taken centrestage in aggravating the situation.

Although both brothers are uniquely talented, Jude was the pillar that held them together until he began to fail at it by joining forces with one brother to fight the other. Let’s put their fame aside, if it came down to an extended family meeting with elders and kinsmen, Jude would be receiving lashes now for his ignoble behaviour towards the conflict between his brothers.

Apparently, we’re not the only ones who think this, look at YNaija’s poll below:
