Cardi B makes rap history and chart-breaking moves

Bodak Yellow has become the number 1 song in the US.

Billboard announced on Monday that newcomer rapper, Cardi B is now the “first female rapper to top the Billboard 100 chart without the assistance of any other credited artistes”.

That’s not the biggest part of the news. Wait for it…

No female rapper has been able to make this happen in the last 19 YEARS. Former Fugees singer, Lauryn Hill was the first to make a solo Hot 100 entry with her single, Doo Wop back in November 1998 which remained on the top spot for 2 weeks.

Bodak Yellow rose to No 2 to No 1 kicking Taylor Swift’s Look What You Made Me Do off the position.
