Boko Haram infiltrates South-West, attacks imminent – Orientation Agency

The people of the South-West region of Nigeria have been warned that their days of being mere observers in the menace of Boko Haram, may soon be over.

According to the National Orientation Agency (NOA), the South-West may be possibly attacked by the Boko Haram insurgents.

The agency says security reports indicates that Boko Haram fighters may have infiltrated the South-western part of the country.

Consequently, the NOA has advised schools, churches and mosques, and other crowded places, to be on red alert.

Ekiti state Director of NOA, Dayo Famosaya, is the bearer of the gloomy message.

Famosaya advised South West residents to be security conscious and watch out for strangers in their neighbourhood.

“They have threatened to deploy cluster bombs in the zone. These cluster bombs are usually housed in discarded metallic materials such as cans of beverages and soft drinks.

“The bombs may be concealed in bags and for it to have more grievous effect, they have planned to deploy these bombs in crowded places such as schools, markets, stadia, churches and mosques.”
