Boko Haram members infiltrate IDP camps – FG reveals

by Panshak Ibrahim

On Wednesday, February 18, the federal government pointed out that some Boko Haram insurgents have infiltrated the camps of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

According to the government, members of the sect who were flushed out from their hideouts during recent military operations in the North-east have found their way to different IDP camps.

The development was disseminated by the coordinator of the National Information Centre (NIC) and Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mike Omeri.

Omeri stated that some of the insurgents have been arrested at IDP camps and would be paraded before the media once investigations are completed.

He said: “At the appropriate time we will parade these people before journalists but please bear with us. But let me make this explanation from intelligence sources on those they arrested.”

“Once they know and they confirm that somebody is taken, it aggravates the problem. So it is better we keep them quite and safe until we see the end to this problem. Then the total number will be made known to you and their faces will also be made available to the media appropriately,” Omeri added.
