Contrary to what was reported yesterday, Goodwill Akpabio’s election has been upheld by the court of appeal.

Akpabio is the senator representing the northwest senatorial district of Akwa Ibom state.

The ruling was decided by a three-man panel of judges struck out the appeal of Mathew Okorie, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), challenging the judgment of the election petition tribunal upholding Akpabio’s election.

Akpabio also took to his twitter handle to relay the information that his election has been upheld.
