Former Libyan President, Muammar Gaddafi, has been killed in a gun battle at Sirte today October 20, 2011. The dictator has been hunted by NATO coalition forces and revolutionary forces in Libya.
These new developments come as the revolutionary forces captured his home town, Sirte. Initial reports from CNN and the revolutionary council had said Gaddafi was in custody, while Sky News reported that Gaddafi had been wounded in both legs prior to his capture. He was wearing a military-styled attire.
However, Al Jazeera, after reporting that a ‘big fish’ had been caught came up with a new story that Gaddafi was killed in a gun battle with the revolutionary forces. Al Jazeera also reported celebration in the Libyan cities of Benghazi and Tripoli.
