BREAKING: Macron elected French President

Emmanuel Macron has been elected President of France winning 65 and 66 per cent of the votes.

The 39-year-old defeated far-right National Front leader Marine Le Pen.

Le Pen conceded defeat and said she called Emmanuel Macron to congratulate him.

“The French have chosen a new President of the Republic and have voted for continuity,” she told her supporters.

“I want to thank the 11 million French who have given me their vote and their confidence.”

Macron is set to become France’s youngest President ever.
