Several people including celebrities have taken to the streets of Lagos to protest the abduction of over 200 schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno State.
The protest which has attracted the attention of thought leaders all over the world including CNN’s Piers Morgan, Femi Oke, Chris Brown, Mary J Blige, Keri Hilson and others is meant to put pressure of the Federal Government to do more in facilitating the release of the victims from the Boko Haram Islamic sect.
Among those who are presently on the streets, lending their voice to the #BringBackOurGirls campaign are Afrobeat artiste, Seun Kuti, Waje, Adebola Williams of The Future Project, Kathleen Ndongmo and several others.
Yesterday, the former World Bank Vice President for Africa, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili led hundreds of protesters in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory to demand the release of the 234 schoolgirls who were kidnapped from their school dormitories on April 14.
