You can’t wrestle power from Wike | PDP tells APC

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers has said the All Progressives Congress cannot defeat the state governor, Nyesom Wike in the 2019 elections.

Glory Emeh, a PDP leader in the state said this while reacting to a statement by the APC that it would shock the ruling party in 2019.

Speaking with journalists in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Emeh said the APC does not have the strength to dislodge Wike.

Emeh said, “Currently, there is no direction, there is no leadership and there is a lot of inconsistencies in what they (APC) do and what they say. Any APC person in the state who thinks that he can wrestle power from Wike is daydreaming.

“A politician who prepares for himself and for his opponents cannot be beaten. You cannot beat him. At what point would the APC solve its internal disagreement and begin to think of election?”

He further said the Supreme Court verdict on the PDP leadership had cleared any stumbling block for the party’s aim at reclaiming power at the centre in 2019.

He added that the non-performance of the APC-led government had made it easier for the PDP to reclaim power.
