2 Fulani herdsmen charged with murder, to ‘remain in prison till September’

Two Fulani herdsmen suspected to be behind the May 20 attack on Oke Ado, Ikole Ekiti Local Government Area of Ekiti State, were on Wednesday, remanded in jail by a Chief Magistrate’s court in Ado Ekiti.

According to Vanguard, the suspects, Usman Salihu (50) and Abubakar Auta C52) were arraigned before the court on charges of murder and causing grievous bodily harm.

The attack on Oke Ado had left two persons dead and several others wounded.

This prompted the state governor, Ayodele Fayose, to ban the movement of herdsmen in the state.

The suspects will remain in prison custody pending the advice of the state’s Director of Public Prosecution in September 2016.
