Daddy Freeze’s enemies have finally caught up with him – who would have thought?

OAP Freeze has been fired by Cool FM. No jokes, there’s a picture proof on the internet. The loose-lipped OAP was laid off by AIM Group, the owners of Cool FM in an email sent to other members of staff. They even gave him an exit date: 26th August, 2016. So by our calculation, OAP Freeze has been without a job for 24 hours and counting. The mighty has fallen.

There’s been conflicting reports of the circumstances that might have led to his sack but from all of the stories, one thing we can deduce is “pride sure leads to a fall”. Daddy Freeze has been “daddying” over every public issue and he definitely had it coming. You can’t “chook” your mouth in every matter and expect that you won’t gain enemies that will chase you. It is clear that Freeze’s enemies chased him and have finally caught up with him. Lobatan!

We hear OAP Freeze failed to attend a meeting with his boss, Amin Moussalli and refused to send in a representative. There had been complaints about his conduct and how he and some of his fellow OAPs “act like gods” and call everybody’s bluff. We also hear he was fired because of his feud with comedians, Basketmouth and Bovi. Wherever this came from, we smell a connivance that was chaired by spiritual forces to send Freeze out of Cool FM, and in these harsh times. But you people sha, it’s not fair o. Freeze has stepped on so many toes that we wonder if any organisation will be willing, in the near future, to associate with his brand. We also doubt if he has saved enough from his salary from his 15 years at the Cool FM to start his own radio station, in the event that he does not get another OAP gig. Considering he has invested a whole lot of cash in wristwatches.

Many Nigerian radio personalities need to learn from this. Being an OAP gives you no rights at all to trashtalk people. Also, you’re not supposed to have a say on every trending topic. Even if you do have opinions, you can be sensible about how you air them. You represent a brand and you should respect that. But no, it’s everyday talk talk. Who would have thought Daddy Freeze had a boss? Slapping people and attempting to drag them down with his unsought comments.
After all said, we sympathise with you, Daddy Freeze. We hope new, exciting doors will open as you take on the future. This will only happen if you admit that you have actually been fired, as we hear you are threatening a legal action against those peddling sack rumours and other slanderous comments about you. Don’t waste your money on paying lawyers in this period of economic crisis. Whichever way it goes, time will tell, according to your array of watches.
