The Lagos state government is today unveiling a cenotaph in memory of the 153 people who died on-board the Dana Aircraft which crashed last year at Iju Ishaga, Lagos.

Reports say the Lagos State governor Babatunde Fashola will personally unveil the cenotaph. The governor is expected to interact with families of the deceased and commiserate with them while prayers would also be made for the repose of the deceased.

YNaija was at the location of the crash and men could be seen working feverishly to get everything ready for the unveiling of the cenotaph.

A resident of the area, Alhaja Ojasope whose house was also affected by the impact of the crash said it was an unfortunate incident.

She said, “The airplane wing hit part of my toilet and everything sank. My pregnant neighbour who was pregnant lost her baby when she prematurely delivered her baby the next day.”

She is gradually gathering the pieces of her life together but according to her, the day the plane came down on her house will remain fresh in her memories.
