10 types of women to avoid dating (and some are unfair)

by Aaron Tatum

…if a woman has cheated before she’d be willing to do it again. It’s safer to date someone who holds herself and her relationships to a higher standard.

The dating pool presents an abundance of different types of people. Ideally, you want to strive to find that one person that matches you so perfectly that the two of you will never want to be apart. How exactly you’ll find this person is never certain. You may find that your life partner is someone you who would have never expected. However, there are certain women you should always steer clear of.

  1. Women who are attached As obvious as it may seem, it’s always in your best interest to date single women. There’s more than a few taken girls out there who will gladly take on a number two, but aside from being unethical, this presents a multitude of problems. You put yourself in a risky position in regard to her other boyfriend, who may have an angry or violent streak in him. You also set yourself up to have your heart broken at any moment as she tells you “sorry, I think I should really try to make things work with my boyfriend.”
  2. Gold diggers and feminists Always avoid gold diggers. Women who are out only to find a man to provide for them financially are not what you want. Even if you don’t have that much money, you may still encounter girls like this; interested only in what money you do have. A tell tale sign of a gold digger is the lack of a job. If a woman has no motivation to support herself, then odds are her goal is to be supported.
  3. Elitist women Another type of woman to avoid is the elitist. They can come from all walks of life, but it doesn’t take too long in conversation to spot one. If a girl talks down to you or preaches at you, chances are she lives on her own little self created cloud (likely born from her own insecurities) and no matter how hot she is, you do not want to date her. A relationship needs to be mutually beneficial to both parties. Holier-than-thou girls who put themselves on a pedestal will leave you feeling emasculated and should be avoided. Feminists also fall into this category.
  4. Women obsessed with marriage Many women are infatuated with the idea of marriage. They’ve planned out their lives to the finest silly detail and they see happiness as some sort of utopia that they can create by following certain steps. They must have two children by the time they’re 32 and they had better be living in a cute white house with a pug and a quirky neighbor who does good impressions. If any girl mentions making a family or getting married before you’ve even gotten to know her, run away.
  5. Argumentative women. Arguments are one of the most unpleasant things about a relationship. While they’re hard to avoid completely, you can do yourself a favor by not dating girls who are always looking for a fight. You’ll know you’ve started seeing a confrontational type when she pulls an argument out of thin air and tries to break up with you after your second date. Ultimately these types of girls will bring you to their level and make you unhappy, so don’t date them.
  6. Women who don’t give space. If you find yourself warding off incessant phone calls about nothing from your brand new girlfriend you may have inadvertently landed a clinger. There are some girls out there who just can’t get enough of their boyfriend no matter how inappropriate the situation may be. At a funeral? Expect a call. If you don’t answer, expect a text whining about you not answering your phone. Every guy needs some space and alone time, so if a girl can’t give that to you, you shouldn’t start a relationship with her.
  7. Divorcees and single mothers. As unfair as it may seem to them, you should also avoid divorcees and single moms. Just think about it logically; these women have already tried to create their perfect lives along with their ‘soul mates’ and they’ve failed miserably. Maybe they chose the wrong guy (which indicates they may be the ‘marriage/family obsessed type’ from earlier, just picking a guy to fit their plan) or maybe they were the problem in the relationship. Either way they’re not good at relationships and by dating a girl like this you’re essentially setting yourself up to be disaster round two. Furthermore, if you date a woman with children she could potentially make you out to be a putative father and you’ll suddenly have to pay child support when you leave her. Courts are rarely friendly towards men in these types of situations.
  8. Women cheating on their men. Unless you enjoy being cheated on, don’t date a cheater. Many women will proclaim their promiscuous pasts without you even prying, but if they’re of the stealthier variety be sure to ask them if they’ve ever cheated and make them elaborate on their answers. If you have any mutual friends with the girl, ask them about her sexual past. In general, if a woman has cheated before she’d be willing to do it again. It’s safer to date someone who holds herself and her relationships to a higher standard.
  9. Cry babies. Women cry more than men. That’s just the way it is. However, if you’re in a relationship where your new girlfriend cries over you poking fun at her hat, then you’re destined to have to deal with many more ridiculous tears as the relationship wears on. Compulsive weepers are an absolute headache and will eventually drive you to the brink of insanity. Don’t date them.
  10. ‘Mysterious’ women. Lastly, don’t date women who shroud themselves in a veil of mystery. There’s nothing at all wrong with a girl taking a little while to open up, but there’s a limit. When women present themselves as some sort of enigma it usually means they have something to hide, or something about their inner selves that they just don’t want to face. Girls who tote this sort of personality may intrigue you at first, but if you pursue the relationship too far you may quickly find yourself taking on unwanted baggage. If you’re unable to get to know a girl within a few weeks of dating her, back out.

Being single and searching through the never-ending sea of women to find that one true love can be fun, but there are times to pursue a relationship and times to fold your cards and await the next hand. Some women you just won’t win with. So save yourself the time and effort that goes into a relationship destined for failure, and spend time instead looking for the right girl in the right places.
